Large eddy simulation reduced order modeling

In this talk, we present a large eddy simulation (LES) framework for reduced order models (ROMs) of fluid flows. This framework centers around the idea of ROM spatial filtering. The main challenge in the new LES-ROM framework is the ROM closure problem, i.e., modeling the effect of the discarded ROM modes onto the modeled ROM modes. We present several types of ROM closure models and discuss their pros and cons.
