## Irregular Sampling of Band- Limited Functions on the Sphere and in More General Settings

• An iterative algorithm for stable and accurate reconstruction of band-limited functions from irregular samples on the unit 2-d sphere and the general framework of Dirichlet spaces is developed. Geometric rate of convergence in the uniform norm is achieved. It is shown that a MATLAB realization of this algorithms can eff ectively recover high degree ($\geq$ 2000) spherical polynomials from their values at sufficiently dense scattered points on the sphere.
